Team Meeting Number 2

Yesterday, I went to the second team meeting in preparation for the trip to Zambia. It was a great chance to meet more members of the team, and get to know more about them.

We first opened with a short prayer and a bible verse which sums up the principle aim of the trip.
"What God the Father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world." James 1: 27.

After learning a bit more about Hands and the origin of the charity, we all took a little time to reflect and share upon why we have chosen to go on the trip to Zambia this year. It was inspiring to hear about how God is calling us all individually to take this next step in our journey of faith to serve some of the most vulnerable.

It then came to the logistics of the trip! We discussed everything from flights to home based visits, from food to fundraising. It was a useful opportunity to discuss any concerns or worries we have about the trip and to share any tips and advice to help the trip go more smoothly.

Whilst on the train back home to London, it gave me a good chance to reflect upon the meeting and the trip to Zambia as a whole, and whilst I am apprehensive about the next few months, it is amazing to know that I can put my full trust in God the Father, knowing that he will guide us, strengthen us and support us in our preparations and during our time out in Zambia, and will use us to serve those that need it most.
