10K Run = COMPLETE!

I DID IT!!!

I'm so happy to say that on Saturday 1st July 2017, I completed my first (and most probably last!) 10K run. If you have read the previous blog posts, you will have known that running is most definitely not my forte and it has been difficult training for it. However, it had to be a challenge, and every single step reflected that.

Throughout the race, I kept reminding myself of the struggles that vulnerable families out in Africa face every single day, including young, vulnerable children having to walk miles for water and an education, and for those having to sacrifice their learning to go and work to help provide for their families. They were my motivation when things started to get tough, as well as the work and support that Hands at Work in Africa provide for these vulnerable people.

So, 4 blisters, a few days of sore thigh muscles and 1 hour, 11 minutes and 47 seconds worth of running later it is complete! Thank you to EVERYONE who supported me, sponsored me and cheered me along the way! I honestly could not have done it without your support and love.

It's not too late for a last minute sponsor, just go to: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jessica-dilley

Next stop...........ZAMBIA!
