Day 3 - Tuesday 15th August 2017

The morning started with a bright and early wake up at 7:00am to prepare ourselves for the Children's Camp. Breakfast consisted of chopped banana and strawberry yoghurt, with a slice of toast for extra energy.

We then took all of the equipment down to the School House and prepared little parcels for the children when they arrived. The parcels included a team colour hat, a flannel, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, nail clippers, lotion, hand sanitiser and a very cute octopus knitted by a friend of Brenda's who donated them to Hands Then the wait for the children started - they were meant to arrive at 11:00am however, as we were reminded we are now working on 'Africa Time' and the turned up to the farm at 14:00! All the children that are coming to camp are from the community of Maposa - the community that The Forge church are partnered with. Once they arrived, lunch was prepared for us all, however they had already had lunch back at the community care point! However, as it was all prepared, we sat down for lunch with the children and ate out rice, beans and meatballs which were absolutely delicious!
After feeling very full from lunch, we decided to play a pass the ball game and duck, duck, goose, of which we were all outrun by the children! They were then registered I to their different coloured teams - I am in green team and we have to wear very bright green hats - photos to come later!!
We came back all together for a time of worship, which included a camp song and 'Hallelu Hallelujah, Praise ye the Lord' a good holiday club classic! We then had story time, our theme was 'God's Creation'. We spoke about the creation story which was acted out by Emma and Lauren. As part of the crafts for the day we had to create a time wheel of different days of the creation and the children had to colour them in.
To conclude the day we decorated our team sign with all our hand prints and displayed it above our table. We waited for the children's dinner to be served before saying goodnight to them and heading back up to the house.
We got back and dinner was served as soon as we got there, it included chicken, rice and a spicy tomato sauce. We treated ourselves to a very delicious Nutella filled pudding and played a game of spoons to end the evening.

We are all tired but enjoying reflecting on the day with a cup of tea in the sofas with one of our hosts Dawson.
